Researcher of the IDL among the most cited scientists with Portuguese affiliation
Ricardo Trigo, director of the Instituto Dom Luiz (IDL) and researcher in the areas of Meteorology and Climatology is one of the 172 scientists with Portuguese affiliation in the top of the 100.000 most cited worldwide, in a universe of near 7 million scientists. This database was recently published by the journal PLOS BiologyΒ and contains standardized information obtained from Scopus data regarding the classification of a composite indicator that considers different citation metrics. The use of standardized data aims to enable a comprehensive application of citation metrics, which can thus be used more systematically, less error-prone and more relevant, truly reflecting measures of impact or excellence. According to this database, the Universidade de LisboaΒ is the Portuguese institution with most researchers on the list of the most cited scientists.
