João Duarte elected President of the EGU Tectonics and Structural Geology division.

João Duarte was elected President of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) Tectonics and Structural Geology division for the two year period 2025-2027. This will also include being a member of the EGU council. EGU is the leading organization for Earth, planetary and space science research in Europe. It is a non-profit international union of scientists with about 19,500 members from all over the world. João Duarte is an assistant Professor in the Geology department of FCUL and researcher in IDL. It is a great honor for IDL to have one of its members taking up such an internationally relevant responsibility.
