IDL at the 15th Biennal Meeting of the Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits

Filipa Luz and André Cravinho Santos, students of the Earthsystems doctoral program and the researcher of the Instituto Dom Luiz, Jorge Manuel Relvas, together with colleagues of the Instituto de Ciências da Terra (ICT) were part of the Portuguese delegation of the 15th Biennal Meeting of the Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits (SGA), celebrated at the University of Glasgow between 27th and 30th August, 2019. Filipa Luz and André Cravinho presented two oral communications entitled “Unravelling the geochemistry of dark-grey to black metapelites in the Iberian Pyrite Belt (Portugal): the relation to massive sulphide ores” and “Does heat matter? Magmatism and metallogeny in the IPB: assessment of future mineral exploration vectors”, respectively. Based on these presentations, the students of the Earthsystems doctoral program challenged other institutions to collaborate in their projects to find new mineral prospecting guides in the Iberian Pyrite Belt.
