I am a seismologist dedicated to investigating the structure and dynamics of the deep Earth. Since 2019, I have been an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics of the Universidad de La Serena in Chile. I hold a degree in Geophysics from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata in Argentina and obtained an MSc in Geophysics and Meteorology and a PhD in Earth Sciences from the Universidad de Granada in Spain. My research focuses on meticulously analyzing seismic waves generated by strong earthquakes worldwide. Using receiver functions and cross-correlation techniques, I aim to map seismic discontinuities and explore the thermochemical state of the mantle transition zone. Through my work, I can infer key properties such as the presence of subducted slabs, partial melting zones, and other thermochemical anomalies, providing insights into the dynamic behaviour of the Earth's mantle.
