Members of the IDL in a campaign off Faial Island

Between 2nd and 7th September 2019, members of the Instituto Dom Luiz (IDL) participated in a campaign to collect OBS (Ocean Bottom Seismometers) off Faial Island, in the Azores. The equipment was placed for six months with the purpose, in addition to recording seismic data, to develop marine biology analyzes related to the study of whales. These analyses are part of the AWARENESS project funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT) and led by the researcher of the IDL Luís Matias in collaboration with Carlos Corela and José Luis Duarte also from the IDL, as well as elements of the IMAR - Institute of Marine Research (Faial, Azores).
