Characterization of Quaternary Mass Movement Deposits in the Portimão Bank

A multidisciplinary study including analyzes of seismic stratigraphy, sedimentology, geochemistry, and magnetism, to characterize deposits of quaternary mass movements in the Gulf of Cadiz has just been published in Marine Geology journal.

The study was developed by the researchers of the Instituto Dom Luiz (IDL) Pedro Silva, Cristina Roque, and Teresa Drago in collaboration with researchers of the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL), the Estrutura de Missão para a Entensão da Plataforma Continental (EMEPC), the Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera (IPMA), the Institut De Ciències Del Mar, the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris, the Centro de Ciências do Mar (CCMAR), the Instituto Español de Oceanografía (IEO), and the Instituto Geológico y Minero de España.
