Scientific Interests

Main Interests:

My current research interests are mainly in the field of atmospheric sciences, including the areas of climatology and extreme events in the Atlantic Basin and adjacent continental areas. During my post-doctoral research I have worked on the Atmospheric Rivers (ARs) variability in the North Atlantic Basin and their influence in western Europe. An implementation of an automated detection scheme was applied to western Europe, allowing to study the influence of ARs on extreme precipitation events and floods for past, present and future climates. A thorough analysis has been carried out on historical cases of floods in Iberia and their relationship with ARs.
